Analysis Music Timeline



When watching both of these two trailers below i found each one of them contained a large amount of music and sound effects. The music helps to represent the genre and and mood as the filming is being shown.

Snow White and the Huntsman

  • Slow echoed banging sounds repeated for 5 seconds.
  • A voice over – MY QUEEN ANOTHER KINGDOM FALLS TO YOUR GLORY.
  • Horse galloped for 1 second.
  • Diegetic smashing sound.
  • Diegetic sound of water.
  • Diegetic Sound of blades from a sword and then another huge bang sound.
  • Up beat action music beguines.
  • Dialogue overlaps – MIRROR ON THE WALL WHO IS THE FAIREST OF THEM ALL.

  • Dialogue – WHAT DOES SHE WANT FROM ME.
  • A Voice over – CONSUME HER HEART.

  • Overlapped over the water gushing is a voice over – AND YOU SHALL RULE FOREVER.

  • Change of music, faster more upbeat and panicky.
  • Overlapped with a horse galloping.

  • Repetitive band sound as a beat.

  • Fighting sounds – screams and swords.
  • Dialogue – I have seen what she sees.
  • Screaming then with ice breaking.
  • A cheer.
  • Sound of flames.
  • Bird noises.
  • Dialogue – LIPS RED AS BLOOD. HAIR BLACK AS NIGHT.

  • Chanting again and then birds flying away.
